Maybe another mechanics can be added similar to VVVVVV for example loss the ability to control the flipping at one level and you always flip when you hit the edges or when hit certain items, etc. ![]() Also, maybe laser could have cool down if the gravity flipping doesn't have cool down. Another thing is laser could be more utilized for destroying asteroids instead of just used for the boss fight, and destroying big asteroids might make it split. Another thing, the bottom area of the screen cause damage but the top part not, it is kinda weird because I could relax without spamming the button when at the top but not at the bottom, I would recommend to make it both identical so less need for spamming. There is very small stuff that could be improved to make the game better, for example, the game depends on spamming the space button to be on the same area which make it less strategic, maybe you could make cool down for that so the player need to think about their path. The game is about a group of scientists, captains, professors and much more that travel in a space ship until it crashes. It reminds me of VVVVVV smashed with flappy bird in one game. VVVVVV (pronounced as one V) is a game created by Terry Cavanagh (in the indie group distractionware ). I love the way the story and the game play advances, even just teasing about the boss during the game is fun. Jupiter Hadley: What a fun story and game! Very well made and has a big one more go feel!Īhmed Khalifa: First of all, congratulations on finishing your game for the JS13K jam and adding sounds, music, and story. Great work!Ĭhrister Kaitila: nice and smooth! and I likes OSCAR's npc dialogues! once the asteroids were part of the levels it was just the right amount of challenge. One thing I would suggest is having a skip option for the intro for those returning. I can see myself getting easily addicted. We believe that your voice matters.Īlso.Ania Kubów: Big fan of the humorous intro - it was useful and funny at the same time. ![]() We aren't just a news and reviews site, we are a community. Your source for everything Nintendo Switch. Nicalis does a great service giving you this game to add to your Switch library. It’s a great throwback to retro 8-bit games, and is most definitely one hell of a challenge for fans of puzzle games. Tips and tricks to survive a minute in the Super Gravitron, while playing normally. Here's a guide to help you keep getting better at it, even if your first playthrough didn't end very well. While there isn’t a lot of depth, nor is this game very long, VVVVVV is a lot of fun. VVVVVV is a hard game, and it's easy to get discouraged. Or dive in to the countless levels that are created by other users, and see if you can beat their challenges. Every guide I have tried (and there arent many), my result is that the folders people tell you to make for the files, they show up in the ports menu. Replay certain sections of the game in a competitive time-trial mode to see how well you can beat the clock. The official RetroPie pages for both of these ports are so lacking in actual information, its laughable. Passing through this line will automatically flip gravity on you, and these free-floating sections are some of the most difficult in the game.Īnd if you make it through the whole game thinking it’s a breeze, try out the No Death Mode and see how far you can get. That is, if you’re allowed to land at all, because some sections will come with a thin white line across the screen. But then come the spikes, they line the ground, the ceiling, even the walls, meaning your landings need to be placed perfectly. At times it will be simple, simply flipping gravity to bounce between the ground and ceiling to get across the screen. These areas where the crew members are located will put your aim and your timing to an extreme test. ![]() Once things start getting tricky, though, you’ll know you’re getting close to locating a crew member. Some areas of the map are extremely simple to navigate, with big open voids that you can just sail on through. You’ll need to jump and…well fall all over the place to navigate the world’s map. The graphics are quite blocky, but this retro throwback definitely feels like a game of today with it’s gravity warping puzzles. VVVVVV‘s world will feel familiar to anybody who played old-school computer games. Not posessing the ability to jump, as the Captain, you must manipulate gravity to move around, winding your way through the games crazy puzzly sections, avoiding death as much as possible to resuce your crew. ![]() The uniquely named VVVVVV brings the story of Captain Veridian, the captain of a ship that has crashed and sent all of it’s crew members scattering to different locations and dimensions.
